Our 2011 Challenge will be a mystery quilt. Participants will “solve” the
mystery by following a series of monthly “clues” that give specific
instructions for piecing blocks that will go together in a surprising way.

General Information:

The name of the quilt is Scrappy Trails to You, designed by quiltmaker and
author Judy Hopkins. Our challenge is based upon and includes her
directions for a crib quilt that measures 40” x 50” (including borders). The
Uhuru Challenge also includes additional instructions for those who would
like to make a lap-size quilt (55” x 65”), along with some possible cutting and
border options.

Timeline:

Clues will be provided according to the following schedule. Participants may
sew along, or proceed at their own pace. Clues will be handed out at
meetings, and will also be posted on the Uhuru website as pdf files.

January 15:
Step 1: Fabric requirements and cutting.
