Uhuru participates in a network that supports creativity in textile & quilting arts in the Washington, DC area. Below is a listing of upcoming guild activities, local classes, shows, lectures and workshops to provide inspiration, education, and motivation for quilters.

Show hours - The gallery is open 9 am til 4 pm, closed Saturdays. Artist's reception on Saturday, February 11, 1-4 pm.

- Bus trip to Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival XXIII
Hampton, Virginia
Pickup Time and Location: 7:00 a.m., 6009 Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill MD (next to Home Depot in Oxon Hill)
Show hours - 10:00-3:30
Leave for dinner at Golden Corral - 3:35 pm
Leave restaurant for return trip - 4:35
Arrive back in MD - 7:30 p.m.
Note - times are approximate
Note: the bus trip is limited to 29 people
Price $70 per person - No Refunds (replacements accepted)
Price includes round trip deluxe bus transportation, ticket to the show, and dinner at Golden Corral.
Or Price $65 per person if you do not want to go to dinner.

- Southern Comforters of Bowie Maryland will hold their 21st Annual Quilt Show on Saturday March 24, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday March 25, 2012 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at
C. Elizabeth Rieg School, located at 15542 peach Walker Drive, Bowie, Maryland.
