​History Committee


Under the direction of the Historian, this committee will record and update the history of the Guild and its members, and community; collect, maintain, and preserve artifacts such as newsletters, articles, videos, photographs, and other media of the Guild’s activities; support the preservation and interpretation of quilts that have historical and cultural value; support and encourage the present-day art of quiltmaking so that these quilts may become the heirlooms of tomorrow. Projects include---but are not limited to---
  • The Guild History
  • The History Quilt Project and/or 30th Anniversary Book
  • YouTube Channel programming
  • Database of African American Quilters and Quilters of Color in the Mid-Atlantic region 

Release Form

By signing the Release Form, you are giving permission to Uhuru Quilters Guild to use images of you or your quilts and other items on the website, newsletter, and other publications or campaigns to promote the Guild. You retain ownership of the image.
